This is an authentic vintage German enamel sign for “Union-Briketts", an industrial advertising piece for the well-known German brand of lignite (brown coal) briquettes.
The signs age is somewhat a mystery as signs of this style frequently date back to the 1920s or 1930s however, this sign is likely from the 1950s/1960s. It was sourced directly from the region of Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany.
The sign is convex with a significant & solid covering of enamel. It’s a solid, heavyweight piece with no enamel chips but standard age wear consistent with age should be expected. Please review photos carefully.
