Vintage (ca. 1950s) Enamel German BP Gas Sign

This is an authentic vintage German enamel sign for "BP Gas". BP (British Petroleum) is a global oil & gas company. The sign reads, "BP Gas" inside a yellow propane tank with the text, "Konzessionierte Vertriebsstelle," below it. The text translates in English as, "Licensed Sales Outlet" or more specifically, "Licensed Distributor".

Vintage ca. 1950s/1960s & sourced directly from the region of Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany.

It’s a solid, heavy duty piece presenting scratches, dents, & standard age wear consistent with its age. Please review photos carefully.

HISTORY:
Founded in 1909 as the Anglo-Persian Oil Company, its name changed to the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company, and then the British Petroleum Company Limited, the namesake for which this sign is produced, before becoming BP PLC in 2000 following it's merger with Amoco.

BP is headquartered in London w/significant global presence in the oil, gas, and chemical industries.
