This is an authentic vintage German enamel Insurance sign for the Nordstern insurance company. Nordstern is a major German insurance group w/roots back to 1857. The sign features the phrase "Versichert" which means "insured". These signs would have been displayed on buildings of insurance agencies indicating they were insured...by Nordstern.
It was sourced directly from the region of Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany & is likely from the era between the 1920s and 1950s.

The sign is convex featuring the classic Nordstern "star" logo w/an "N" in the center & a blue, black, & yellow color scheme w/bold lettering. It has a significant & solid covering of enamel with a glossy finish; a solid, light weight piece with minimal wear. Standard age wear consistent with age should be expected. History:
The original marine insurance company was founded in Hamburg in 1857. A life insurance branch followed in Berlin in 1866. The company grew into a major group, known for its distinctive
"Nordsternhaus" headquarters in Berlin. Following World War Il, the headquarters moved to Cologne in 1949.
In 1995, Nordstern was acquired by Colonia, which was itself taken over by the French group AXA in 1997 & has since been largely absorbed into AXA's operations.
