HISTORY:
The name "Riesengebirge" (Giant Mountains), refers to the Krkonoše mountain range, which straddles the border between the Czech Republic and Poland. The name evolved over time, with various names used historically, but "Riesengebirge" became widely accepted in the 19th century. The German name directly translates to "Giant Mountains", reflecting the range's prominence and height.
