Vintage (ca. 1990s) Enamel British Hotels Restaurants & Caterers Association Sign

$48.00

This is an authentic vintage British enamel "British Hotels Restaurants & Caterers Association" Membership Sign.

Vintage ca. 1990s & sourced directly from a sign collector in the region of Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany.

The enamel sign (or wall "plaque") is an indication that the hotel or restaurant to which the sign is affixed, owns membership to the British Hotels Restaurants & Caterers Association. The association is still active, 34 years running (as of 2025), & located in London England.

This particular sign is specifically associated with the "Traquair Arms Hotel" located in Innerleithen, Scottish Borders, Scotland. The hotel is a 200-year-old traditional country pub w/rooms & is known for its traditional bar, restaurant serving home-cooked meals, and accommodation options including en suite rooms and self-catering cottages.

The sign is in excellent condition & contains a nice even enamel coating. It’s a solid, medium weight piece presenting very few blemishes; only a smidgeon of standard age wear. Please review photos carefully.

DESCRIPTION:
The sign features the floral emblems of the United Kingdom's constituent countries: the English Rose (England), the Scottish Thistle (Scotland), the Welsh Daffodil (Wales), & the Irish Shamrock (Northern Ireland). The floral emblems are encircled by the associations name w/the text "Member" at the bottom.
