This is an authentic WW2 U.S. M69 dummy/training mortar round designed for 60mm mortar systems. It is an inert training aid designed to give mortar crews realistic loading and firing practice under conditions where live explosives cannot be used.

The teardrop-shaped body is made of solid cast iron and features a blunt, closed nose with no provision or threading for a live nose fuze. The tail is fitted with a segmented fin stabilizer assembly, typically painted red or blue to identify it as inert or a training device.
