These are authentic Chinese (People's Republic of China) standard circulation banknotes. There are a total of 3 denominations included that being the One, Two, & Five Fen banknotes all of which are rare. These notes were issued beginning in 1953 as part of the Chinese Yuan Renminbi series. They were withdrawn from circulation beginning 1 Jul 2003 after which they were demonetized in April 2007. The currency is therefore obsolete and no longer legal tender.
Descriptions & Measurements (approximate):
- 1 Fen (.01 Yuan): (3 1/2"W x 1 1/2"H)
Predominate color is brown featuring an old truck laden w/produce symbolizing agriculture & industry.
- 2 Fen (.02 Yuan): (3 3/4"W x 1 5/8"H)
Predominate color is blue featuring a Lisunov Li-2 passenger plane, a Soviet-built aircraft manufactured under license from Douglas DC-3.
- 5 Fen (.05 Yuan): (3 5/8"W x 1 3/4"H)
Predominate color is green featuring a cargo steamship at sea.
Reverse:
Depicts the national emblem of the People's Republic of China amidst decorative patterns.
Notes uncirculated and in very good condition.
