This is an authentic Confederate States of America (CSA) $10 (T68) banknote, issued on 17 February 1864. It's a 7th Series banknote deriving from the Act of 17 February 1864, published by Keatinge & Ball (Columbia, S.C.) & engraved by Evans & Cogswell. A total of 9,071,000 were issued.
Issued during the American Civil War (1864) from Richmond, Virginia which served as the capital of the Confederacy.

Obverse:
The note features horses pulling a cannon with a portrait of Robert M.T. Hunter in the lower right. Hunter was a lawyer, politician, & planter. He became a U.S. representative, speaker of the House, and U.S. senator. During the Civil War, he became the Secretary of State for the Confederacy & then a Confederate senator, & critic of President Jefferson Davis.
The bottom includes signature lines for the Register and Treasurer, indicating its official issuance by the Confederate government.
Reverse: The digit 10 in each 4 corners & the text "ten" centered on the note scattered with a royal blue background.
Historical Context:
CSA currency was relegated worthless & became obsolete as legal tender following their defeat in the Civil War. However, they represent a part of the financial history of the CSA during the American Civil War & thus these banknotes have become collector's pieces.
