Established by Executive Order by President William J Clinton on May 3, 2000 recognizing military service performed in Kosovo from March 24, 1999 through December 31, 2013. Medal is no longer earned/awarded.

Service Stars were awarded with every Kosovo Campaign Medal while two service stars were awarded to those whom performed in both the Air Campaign and the Defense Campaign (on two separate tours of duty).
