Cold War (USSR) 70 Year Anniversary Medal of Soviet Union Armed Forces

Established 28 January 1988, by decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, the Soviet 70 Years of the Armed Forces of the USSR Medal 1918-1988 marks 70 years of the Soviet Armed Forces' existence.

It was conferred upon all ranks of the Armed Forces, Ministry of Preserving Public Order, and the Committee for State Security.

Description:
Composed of brass, measuring 32mm. The ring is made as a part of the medal & is mounted to a five-sided aluminum suspension w/ribbon attachable by a pin-back.

Obverse: Dated 1918-1988 with a Soviet Soldier, Sailor, and Airman, side by side facing left.

Reverse: The Russian inscription translation: "Seventy Years of the Armed Forces of the USSR".
