This Top Dome is a fiberglass Cast from an original, Pre-1939 Mark 1 K6 phone booth; last placed at Trafalgar Square in London England at Post Code WC2N 5DS. The telephone sign is replicated in 6.5mm laminated safety glass (originals were made of 100% glass) and are framed beautifully, transformed to appear authentic and depict a true representation of the original.

Brand new products 100% manufactured in, and sourced from England (Lincolnshire).

A very cost effective solution for an office, hospitality environment, or home to display an iconic image(s) of British history.

HISTORY:
The phone boxes began use in 1927 and materials were much different then. The telephone sign itself was made of pure glass. As society evolved, improvements were made and the glass (including these phone boxes) made glass adjustments. Think car windshields. Historically, they were pure glass and if broken, shattered into splintered pieces making them more dangerous. Same for these signs. They are now (this one) made of safety glass so that if broken, they break into little “rock” pieces.

The British do not produce these phone boxes any longer going out of production in the mid 1980s. But, they are still around, recognizable, and a British cultural icon.

Today, people use them for props and things such as weddings, parties, or you might see them in bars or pubs as show pieces. As such, they get shipped around the world. You can actually see one on an episode of Britains Got Talent.
