This is a Cold War (West Germany) Luftwaffe (Air Force) cap badge for junior officers and senior NCOs which was worn on the front of the service cap (Schirmmütze), centered above the peak for the Bundeswehr Luftwaffe.
Description:
The design features a "Doppelschwinge" (double wing) surrounded by an oak leaf wreath in a silver-toned metal. An "old silver" (altsilber) version also exists for junior enlisted personnel. The reverse has 4 prongs which secure the badge to the cap...all in tact.
