WW2 (Nazi Germany) Faithful Service Medal, 2nd Class - 25 Years of Service

This is an authentic WW2 Nazi Germany Faithful Service Medal awarded in recognition for long serving civil servants & public works personnel. Its intent was to incentivize the civilian population to foster workplace loyalty and also, to create a stable civil service. This medal, the 2nd class, was for 25 years of faithful service.

All officials, employees, & laborers in any hierarchy of public service (local, regional, or national), who completed the required years of service, were eligible for the medal.

It was instituted by Adolf Hitler on 30 January 1938 & came in three classes.

2nd Class: Conferred f/25 years of service.
1st Class: Conferred f/40 years of service.
Special Class: Conferred f/50 years of service.
Note: When a 1st Class recipient rendered 50 years of service, they were awarded a golden oak leaf with the number “50” on the obverse which would then be attached to the 1st Class ribbon.

Description:
A die struck alloy w/silver wash plated highlights with a frosted silver finish.

Obverse - A circular oak-leaf wreath surrounding the cross with a square plate featuring a Black enameled static swastika.

Reverse - Features an embossed gothic script, "Fur Treue Dienfte" (For Faithful Service).
