HISTORY:
The D.V.G. (Deutschen Volksgemeinschaft) or "German National Community" was an organization of ethnic Germans from the Alsace-Lorraine region of France who sought unification with Germany. Following the German occupation of the region (Reichsgau Westmark, Saarland/Rheinpfal,z and CdZ-Area Lothringen) on 1 March 1941, residents were afforded German citizenship by becoming members of the D.V.G. Although not formally associated with the NSDAP, they produced a membership badge by replicating the NSDAP membership badge only reversing the color scheme.
