This is an authentic WW2 (Nazi Germany) SA (Sturmabteilung), the "Brown Shirts" enlisted man's/NCO belt buckle with sun wheel style swastika. This is an early (ca. early 1930s) pre-RZM era SA belt buckle.
This specific design features a brass-colored rectangular base with an applied silver-colored medallion.
Construction: These were typically "two-part" or "two-piece" construction, where the silver emblem was attached to the brass box buckle.
Description:
Manufactured in brass w/the center medallion of nickel silver & constructed of two pieces soldered together separately at the reverse.
Obverse: Depicts the SA eagle perched atop a wreathed swastika, surrounded by a ribbed ring resembling rope, w/oak leaf twigs at the bottom. Early models, like this one feature a "sunwheel" style swastika rather than the standard mobile swastika.
Reverse: Swivel attachment claws w/minor rusting to the claw. The steel claw and pin all functional & in tact.
Markings: Authentic period pieces are often marked on the reverse with the RZM (Reichszeugmeisterei) stamp, although early examples may be unmarked. This is an early example, pre-RZM era.
Measurements (approximate):
Standard adult size.
Note: Multiple in stock...Shipped item may not be exactly as appears in the photos - may contain slight variation in color/standard age wear & reverse buckle assembly construction may differ.
