This NSDMB emblem badge is rare & scarce and was for wear on the uniform breast pocket and visor cap.
DESCRIPTION:
Constructed of a silvered wash & unmarked. Standard age wear consistent with age.
OBVERSE: A Kyffhäuser League-style German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika in its talons. A black enameled Iron Cross emblazons the eagle's breast, behind which is an anchor & crossed swords.
REVERSE: A horizontal pin-back device with a hinge and catch.

HISTORY:
The NSDMB, "National Sozialistische Deutscher Marine Bund" (National Socialist German Navy League) was the name adopted by its members in 1935 of the earlier named organization, "Bund Deutscher Marine Vereine" (League of the German Navy Association).
In 1938, it was attached to the NS-RKB, "Nationalsozialistische-Reichskriegerbund," (National Socialist German Warrior League) who introduced this new pattern national eagle, which was nearly identical to the earlier "Soldatenbund" (Soldiers’ league) eagle.
In 1943, the NSDMB came under the control of the "Kriegsmarine" (Navy).
