This is an original NSRL/DRL Bronze Sports Patch that would be worn on the sleeve of a German athletes sports attire. This is new old stock so it would not had been issued.

DESCRIPTION:
Embroidered golden yellow/bronze stitching sewn on a black rayon backing.

Obverse: A NSRL/DRL eagle w/closed wings behind a black mobile Swastika, surrounded by a thin round border lying on a black base.
Lower center: reads, "BEVO-Wuppertal......Ges.Gesch."

Maker Marked: BEVO

HISTORY:
Formed on 27 July 1934, The NSRL...Nationalsozialistischer Reichsbund für Leibesübungen (National Socialist League of the Reich for Physical Exercise) was the umbrella organization for sports and physical education in Nazi Germany. Until 1938, they were known as the DRL...Deutscher Reichsbund für Leibesübungen (German League of the Reich for Physical Exercise). It expanded into Austria following Nazi Germany's annexation.
