WW2 (BRITISH) MEDAL LOT - ORIGINAL ISSUE (Mr. W.S. Filby)
British Commonwealth campaign medals, instituted in 1945 and presented for service during World War II.
This particular medal lot belonged to and was mailed to Mr W. S. Filby by the Royal Post. It includes the original packaging w/mailer box complete w/vintage smell (quite a nice collection). The box is original, addressed to recipient from the O.H.M.S. (On His Majesty's Service) referring, in this case to King George VI, whom reigned during this time period.
Each medals eligibility criteria described as below:
1. France & Germany Campaign Star: Service in France, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and Germany from 6 June 1944 (D-Day) to 8 May 1945.
2. 1939-45 Campaign Star: Any operational service between 3 September 1939 and 2 September 1945.
3. Defence Medal: Recognizes(d) both military and civilian service when in support of the war effort or the armed forces.
