This is an authentic period Nazi Germany Volksempfänger (People's Receiver) VE 301 Dyn radio. It was a joint product of the pre-war and wartime period & was colloquially called "Goebbels' Snout" because it served exclusively to disseminate the National Socialist propaganda of Reich Minister of Propaganda Joseph Goebbels. The "People's Receiver" radio, was mass-produced to be affordable for the average household. It was designed to receive medium-wave (MW) and long-wave (LW) stations.
It was developed in Nazi Germany during the 1930s & sourced directly from the region of Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany.
Model Characteristics:
* 301 - commemorates January 30 (30 1), 1933 (the date the Nazi party came to power).
* Dyn suffix - indicates the first models to use a dynamic loudspeaker versus a permanent magnet.
* Case - Dark Bakelite housing, which is an early synthetic plastic.
* 3 primary controls - antenna coupling, tuning, and feedback. The tuner display is located in the center, flanked by control knobs.
* Internal Components - Vacuum tubes (AF7, RES164, and RGN1064).
* Illuminated linear dial.
Description:
Dark (Brown) bakelite housing with balanced dials on either side. Flanking the illuminated display are discs which depict the Nazi Germany eagle & swastika symbol. The internal components all seem to be present and the plug is a post era replacement. The speaker housing similarly contains the Nazi Germany eagle and swastika stamp with maker markings present.
